Established in 1973, the National
Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) is the only national trade
association representing the mortgage broker industry. With 46 state
affiliates, and more than 16,000 members, NAMB promotes the industry
through programs and services such as education, professional certification
and government affairs representation.
HUD's mission is
to increase homeownership, support community development and increase
access to affordable housing free from discrimination. To fulfill
this mission, HUD will embrace high
standards of ethics, management and accountability and forge new partnerships--particularly
with faith-based and community organizations--that leverage resources
and improve HUD's ability to be effective on the community level.
Fannie Mae
realizes that the home symbolizes who we are. The Fannie
Mae public mission, and our defining goal, is to help more families
achieve the American Dream of homeownership.
Freddie Mac
is a stockholder-owned corporation chartered by Congress in 1970 to
keep money flowing to mortgage lenders in support of homeownership
and rental housing. Freddie Mac purchases single-family and multifamily
residential mortgages and mortgage-related securities, which it finances
primarily by issuing mortgage pass through securities and debt instruments
in the capital markets. By doing so, we ultimately help homeowners
and renters get lower housing costs and better access to home financing.
The Federal
Reserve, the central bank of the United States, was founded by
Congress in 1913 to provide the nation with a safer, more flexible,
and more stable monetary and financial system. Today the Federal Reserve's
duties fall into four general areas: (1) conducting the nation's monetary
policy; (2) supervising and regulating banking institutions and protecting
the credit rights of consumers; (3) maintaining the stability of the
financial system; and (4) providing certain financial services to
the U.S. government, the public, financial institutions, and foreign
official institutions.
